A job-seeker hoping to land a task at crypto agency Commerce Terminal has accused the corporate’s CEO, Yao Meng, of mocking him for not being a billionaire throughout a nightmare seven-minute interview.
Peiyuan Jin was allegedly interviewing for the position of Quant Developer on the California-based agency and had already made it by way of three rounds of the hiring course of.
Nonetheless, as detailed in a submit on his LinkedIn account, it quickly turned obvious that issues have been about to take a flip for the more severe when, in response to Peiyuan, the CEO started repeatedly interrupting him.
“As I began my self-introduction, he interrupted me to mock my experience as a software engineer at John Deere, expressing disbelief that a tractor company would even need software services,” Peiyuan posted on LinkedIn.
He claims that Yao then “belittled me for not ‘thinking big’ for the company and boasted that, as an intern, he once persuaded his manager to quit and join him in a crypto venture.”
Peiyuan added that the CEO rounded off the nightmare seven-minute ordeal by saying “I’m a billionaire because I think big, but look at you — you’ve accomplished nothing.”
Peiyuan described the ordeal because the “worst interview experience,” and mentioned, “No candidate should have to endure this kind of treatment, regardless of their background or the companies they’ve worked for.”

Is crypto CEO a billionaire or a delusional management freak?
Regardless of shouting about his apparently astronomical wealth, not all people was so fast to consider Yao’s billionaire boasts.
He added, “I hope that by sharing this, others feel empowered to speak up about their experiences and that companies take responsibility to ensure their interview processes are fair, respectful, and professional.”

“Not to mention the fact that I’ve never met a single billionaire who ever referred to themselves as a billionaire.”
Elsewhere, Reddit customers branded Yao “delusional” and “a control freak,” whereas one other bluntly claimed, “Crypto bro doesn’t know shit about fuck.”
Others dug into the numbers with one claiming, “His company said six years ago they manage 10k bitcoins (would be worth $600 million today). He’s definitely trying to flex their AUM as his money.”
Lastly, one person speculated that maybe he “has one billion SHIB.”
